Arin Ahlum Hanson, MPH
Arin manages MDAC’s outreach strategies and programs to advance oral health equity for low-income Marylanders. In her role, Arin convenes MDAC’s Collaborative, a diverse group of advisors who provide feedback on MDAC’s strategic initiatives and directs the development of the Maryland Oral Health Plan in collaboration with various stakeholders and subcommittees. Arin also manages "My Reason to Smile," a statewide consumer engagement campaign aimed at educating the Medicaid-eligible adult population about their new dental benefits, how to access care, and the importance of oral health for overall health.
Arin is a dedicated non-profit program director with over 18 years of experience in developing, executing, and evaluating health initiatives for marginalized communities. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health, specializing in Health Behavior and Health Education, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor’s degree in Peace and Global Studies from Earlham College. Arin lives in Frederick County, Maryland.
