June 1962, in New York, Carol graduated Dental Hygiene School and became a Registered Licensed Dental Hygienist. While living in New York she served as President of the New York State Dental Hygienists’ Association. She moved to Maryland in 1970 and continued to practice Dental Hygiene. Two years ago Carol retired from her last Dental Hygiene position after 31 years of service. While practicing in Maryland she served as President of the Howard County Dental Hygienists’ Association, and is a Past President of the Maryland State Dental Hygienists Association (MDHA). She also served as Legislative Chair of MDHA for several years.
Carol feels it was an honor to be a member of the original Dental Action Committee and a member of the Maryland Dental Action Coalition since 2007. She is a Past Chair of MDAC and currently serves as Treasurer. She has been a member of the Executive Board of the Mid-Atlantic P.A.N.D.A. Coalition (Prevent Abuse and Neglect Through Dental Awareness) since 2000 and is now a member of the Advisory Committee for the Dental Hygiene Program at Howard County Community College.
Carol is a winner of the Daily Record’s Health Care Hero’s award, Maryland Dental Hygienists’ Association Symbol of Excellence, and she has received recognition from the Maryland Dental Action Coalition and the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene for making a difference in the lives of Maryland’s children.
